2023 Annual Meeting Committee Report:
The Pensions and Benefits Committee continues to have vacancies, as currently only 4 schools have representation. The position of Bargaining Unit Pensions and Benefits Officer is also open, and the office is accepting applications. Please consider putting your name forward.
The committee is happy to report that LTD rates remained the same this year, although it was noted that claims have increased both locally and across the province. It looked at OTIP programs for members:, Alavida, Starling Minds, Carepath and Feeling Better Now and put up information posters in the schools.
The committee will be hosting an OSSTF retirement workshop for the fall, and plan on working with the Member Services Officer on developing a pregnancy and parental leave workshop in 2023-24
